Intro to Cloud Computing: Half day (4 hours)

Course Description:
Cloud Computing is a technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. Cloud Computing allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation, and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. This technology allows for much more efficient computing by centralizing storage, memory, processing and bandwidth.

Topics:

The 4-hour class will cover the following topics:

1. Applications: Who offers ‘On-Demand’ software
2. What are the active platforms
3. What is the major hardware and infrastructure
4. What does the shift to Cloud Computing mean for your business
5. How to you access Cloud
6. How do you develop Cloud applications
Classroom Strategy:
The programs will include lecture and hands-on demonstrations designed to enhance the leader’s perspective and practical expertise. All topics will be covered as stated above in course outline.

Certificate of Completion:
A Penn State University Certificate of Completion will be given and CEU’s awarded to those who have attended the 4-hour program. Evaluations will be distributed and instructor can provide follow-up discussion based on the individual’s focused action plan to determine if concepts have be learned and implemented.
