“RFID for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)”

RFID for ERP: Half day (4 hours)

Course Description:

Students can gain the core skills required to integrate, implement, and maintain RFID systems and components in an ERP (environmental resource planning) environment. An ERP system is an integrated computer-based application used to manage internal and external resources, including tangible assets, financial resources, materials, and human resources. Its purpose is to facilitate the flow of information between all business functions inside the boundaries of the organization and manage the connections to outside stakeholders. Built on a centralized database and normally utilizing a common computing platform, ERP systems consolidate all business operations into a uniform and enterprise-wide system environment.

Comprehensive in nature, the class features a unique domain map that identifies and explains the integration of RFID into an ERP business model.

Topics:
The 4-hour class will cover the following topics:

1: Introduction
2: Hands-on Primer
3: RFID System Lifecycle
4: Frequency Ranges
5: Antennas
6: Tags
7: Interrogators
8: Regulations and Standards, Designing ERP systems
9: ERP Applications, big bang versus a phased approach

Classroom Strategy:
The programs will include lecture and hands-on demonstrations designed to enhance the leader’s perspective and practical expertise. All topics will be covered as stated above in course outline.

Certificate of Completion:
A Penn State University Certificate of Completion will be given and CEU’s awarded to those who have attended the 4-hour program. Evaluations will be distributed and instructor can provide follow-up discussion based on the individual’s focused action plan to determine if concepts have be learned and implemented.
